The first session will be on the following dates: June 9, 15, 22, 29, 2021

Offered Electives and those teaching are listed below:

Science: Hannah Thompson.  Creation confirmation - lessons in geology, astronomy, physics, and zoology that affirm God's Word with lots of hands-on activities.

Cooking: Alyse Fields, Peggy Waldemer, and Susan McGinnis.  In Cooking Club, you will  learn all about some of the incredible ways that Jesus used food to teach us about the kingdom of God.  We will also learn some pretty amazing cooking skills--from baking bread to homemade dips to learning how to dice fruit for a fun dessert.  Join us as we "taste and see that the Lord is good!"  Psalm 34:8

Art: Stephanie Straight and Meredith Dickson.  Romans 1:20 declares that creation testifies God

as our divine Creator. Art is a beautiful reminder that we are made in God’s  image and have the human gift to create here on earth. Come create with us using charcoal, paint, canvas, wood,

paper and more!

STEM Building: Sam Aubuchon and Ian Poe.  STEM Building will incorporate science, technology, engineering, and math principles to create, build, and compete as we work together and learn more about God as creator!

The second session will be on the following dates: July 14, 28, August 4, 11, 2021

PreK Kids will have an awesome summer of learning about the Fruit of the Spirit through songs, stories, play, experiments, and special snacks!  Teachers are Angela McClenahan, Kate Aubuchon, and Laura Case.   There is not a sign-up for PreK.

If you have any questions, please ask.  We are looking forward to a wonderful summer at JABC!!

Sunday School
& Children's Church

Our Jefferson Avenue church family values our children. We are deliberate in providing opportunities for them to recognize their need for God, to understand His redemptive purpose and His love for them and to learn about their responsibilities as His children. We focus on kid-friendly Bible study and life application in Sunday School classes for ages 3 - 5th grade.

Children's Church is offered during the message part of our Sunday morning services. Our Preschool classes meet together for a hands-on learning lesson while children in kindergarten-5th grade meet in our Children's Auditorium upstairs for a time of interactive learning.

Nursery

Childcare is provided at all Sunday & Wednesday church gatherings,
and is available for children 3 and under.

Jesus values and loves our little ones, and we want to show them His love! Because kids birth through three years old are constantly exploring and learning, we make sure to give them plenty of opportunities to learn about Jesus through fun activities like arts & crafts, songs, and games. As well as provide a safe environment to play and explore while mom and dad are fellow-shipping.

awana club

AWANA Clubs meet at 6:00 pm on Wednesdays during the school year. We ask parents to pay a $10 registration fee per child.

Jefferson Avenue's AWANA program consists of three clubs:

Cubbies (3 and 4-year olds)

Sparks (K-2nd grade)

T&T (3rd–5th grade)

Each club is age-specific with the emphasis on scripture memorization, comprehension and application. The Sparks and T&T club nights are divided into three segments: Game Time, Handbook Time, and Council (large group) Time. Each segment helps to reinforce Biblical truths in a fun and exciting way. Clubbers work through their handbooks by memorizing scripture, answering questions, and completing projects. As they work through the handbooks, clubbers can earn a uniform and various patches and pins that display that clubber’s accomplishments. The program encourages kids to learn more about God’s Word by challenging them to set goals and experience the reward of accomplishing those goals.
