    Senior Pastor

    Craig Fields became the Senior Pastor of Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church in November of 1994. Craig was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas. He spent fifteen years in business working for Good Year Tire and Rubber Company, General Tire, and Pepsi Cola Company in Illinois as a distribution manager. After being called into the ministry, Craig moved to Wake Forest, North Carolina, and attended Southeastern Baptist Seminary. Craig's first pastorate was in Hillsborough, North Carolina, where he served from 1990-1994. Craig married his wife Annette in June of 1974. They have three sons, David, Doug, and Brandon, three daughters in-law, Tammy, Becca, and Alyse, and twelve grandchildren.

    discipleship pastor

    Brandon Fields became the Discipleship Pastor at Jefferson Avenue in August of 2012. Brandon attended Southwest Baptist University and graduated in 2005 with degrees in Psychology and Religious Studies. He then attended Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City where he earned his Master's of Divinity in 2010. Brandon is married to Alyse, whom he met and fell in love with while attending JABC as a child. Brandon and Alyse have known each other since 5th grade when his father, Pastor Craig Fields, became the Senior Pastor here at JABC. Alyse works as a part-time dietician for Cox Hospital. They have four daughters, Caroline, Reese, Noelle, and Gwen. Brandon has a passion for changed lives, and he believes that there is no greater life-changing force than the power of the Holy Spirit and the truth He imparts through God's Word as it reveals the love of God expressed through the gift of His one and only Son, Jesus.

    student pastor

    JT Dick joined Jefferson Avenue in April of 2015 as the Student Pastor. JT recieved his Bachelor's degree from Missouri State University and is currently studying at Midwestern Theological Seminary to receive his Masters of Divinity. JT married his wife Kali in September of 2015, and they are both passionate about serving the JABC students together. They have an infant son, Ezra.  JT believes in intentional and relational discipleship, and propelling his students to actively love God and love people.

    children's minister

    Ginny Reding works as the Children's Minister at JABC. She has worked with children for most of her life, both as a public school teacher and through work in the church. Ginny graduated from Southwest Baptist University with a degree in Education and earned her Master’s Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She and her husband, Kenny have two sons, Royce who is married to Emily, and Joshua who is married to Amber. They have four grandchildren: Everett, Atticus, Connor and Josephine. Ginny considers serving at JABC a blessing. She recognizes the great responsibility to get the Word of God into the hearts of our children and strives to motivate them to desire a personal relationship with Him. She wants our children, "Abba's Kids," to recognize the love of God for them personally, but she wants them to have fun doing it! Ginny considers herself a life-long learner who continues to search for God's truths as they apply to her life.

  • Joe Dickerson

    Worship Minister

    Joe Dickerson joined our staff as Worship Minister in May of 2017.  He and his wife, Crystal have one son named Elijah and are expecting another child in April of 2018.  


  • Carla Sturdivan

    office manager

    Carla Sturdivan came on as our Office Manager in November 2016.  She and her husband, Bill moved to Springfield from Perryton TX, where she had served many years as an Office Assistant at First Baptist Church.  Carla and Bill have three grown children, Jenifer who lives in Springfield, Joe who is married to Elisha and lives in Morris OK, and Megan who is married to Lawrence Chatman and lives in Roby MO.  They have five grandchildren: Clayton, Savannah, Will, Jaxon and Esther.
